SAMPLE LAYOUT — NOT REAL REVIEWS. This shows how your Google reviews will appear here once you are collecting them.

How your reviews will look

Your Google rating will show here, in place of the grey stars below.

Your customer
Example

This is where a real Google review appears. When a customer leaves you five stars, their words show here — in their name, with their rating and the date they wrote it.

A recent customer
Example

Reviews are pulled from your Google Business Profile, so this section fills itself. Nothing to write, nothing to keep up to date.

Another customer
Example

The most recent reviews show first, so the page keeps pace with the work without anyone touching it.

Sample layout. The three cards above are not real reviews and no rating is claimed.

Reviews are pulled from your Google Business Profile the day this site becomes yours. If you are not collecting them yet, the quickest start is to ask your last five customers.

Good to know

Common questions

General guidance about builders in the UK, not specific to any one business.

Do I need planning permission for an extension?

Most single-storey extensions under certain sizes are permitted development, but two-storey additions usually need permission. Listed buildings need consent even for minor work. A local authority check is advisable before starting.

What causes cracked brickwork?

Foundation movement, subsidence, differential settling, damp, or freeze-thaw damage to mortar are common causes. Structural cracks differ from surface crazing. A surveyor can identify the cause and recommend repairs.

How long does a loft conversion typically take?

Most conversions take 8–12 weeks from start to finish, depending on size, structural work needed and whether dormers or velux windows are included. Unforeseen roof issues may extend this.

What is repointing and why is it needed?

Repointing removes old crumbling mortar from between bricks and refills with fresh mortar. Failing mortar allows water ingress, damaging brickwork and causing damp inside. Regular repointing extends building life.

Can groundworks be done in winter?

Winter groundwork is slower due to wet, frozen or waterlogged ground. Drainage work is harder, compaction is less reliable, and frost can damage fresh concrete. Spring and summer are preferred for most foundation and levelling jobs.

What should a new build site have ready before work starts?

Clear site access, services marked and diverted if needed, waste skip arranged, temporary welfare facilities, site insurance in place and all planning and building control approvals signed off.
